Lazy days

One reason to visit us.....
LAZY DAYS

Mel and I just spent the day watching old movies and chatting. I have a feeling you would also love this. So when are you coming?

That's right you're not from Texas...

...but Texas wants you anyway!

Know why? Because Texans, to borrow a phrase from Sister Uchtdorf, have "a TEXAS heart".

Yay!

I here your coming this way ol' pal!

That makes me happy for several reasons!

1. Because I haven't spoken to you in two whole months ( I did call).
2. I am just excited in general.
3. Because lets face it we are both awesome!
4. Maybe we should make something yummy to eat while you are not hanging out with the Fam!

The Plan

Jenny Jo is coming to Lubbock!

We are all filled with unmeasurable joy!

Here is the plan though:

Melanie, the Magnificent, will gain employment in the Great Lake of Salt!

Allison, the Awesome, will attend the not so Y, U!

AND, Jenny Jo, the Jovial, will gain a fantastic job outdoors, in the wilderness of Utah (but will remain close to the Magnificent and the Awesome).

These three events....if occurring at one moment in time will result in the most Utopian scenario!

Basically we could live in Bliss together!

Because Lubbock gets SNOW DAYS!

If Jenny Jo were in Lubbock this afternoon, she would be doing one of two things: Sitting on the couch, eating stew, and watching episodes of Chuck; or having a snowball fight outside.

When she walked outside this morning she would have seen slushy roads and rain falling briskly. She would have observed the layer of ice encapsulating most of the upward vegetation, making it brittle and easy to break. She would have realized that, were she able to find her umbrella to shield her from the vigorous rain this morning, it would still have left her cold and wet--with a broken umbrella. When she stepped into her car to warm it up, after the initial shock of seeing ice so thick her scraper wouldn't make a dent, she would roll down her window to clear it off. She would smile at the wall of ice that remained even after the window was rolled down, that is, until the wind blew it all into the car, leaving her with the impression that this must be what it felt like to have broken glass scattered over her person.

Were Jenny Jo on an upper story with a window in mid morning, she would have seen snow flurries so thick that she couldn't see the next building over. After the snow slowed, she would see that with the help of the strong wind, the branches of many trees did indeed break and fall to the ground. She would see students out throwing snow balls at each other, and leaving tracks through the whiteness like the beginnings of a Jackson Pollock painting.

When she left campus at 12:30pm when classes were canceled, Jenny Jo would have been awed by the crispness of the clean snow covering the West Texas flatness, and marveled how sharply it contrasted the gray slush in the streets as she drove carefully home. Which is where she would be if she were in Lubbock: either sitting on the couch with stew and Chuck, or outside making the most of a Lubbock snow day!

PJ Shrimp

Today Allison, Garrett, Chirs (who Jenny Jo does not know), and Charlie made PJ shirmp.

Part of the inspiration for this meal came from the very same Jenny Jo, whose love for shrimp was transfered to Allison.

So Jenny Jo -Lubbock = no PJ Shrimp for Jenny Jo

Alas, MLK day was not the same.

Reasons # 2, 3, & 4

Lubbock has a number of claims to Jenny Jo's affections:

Family members of Jenny Jo = 5
Friends of Jenny Jo > 78
Soil grains = innumerable ≈ ∞

Therefore, Jenny Jo has >83 + infinite draws to Lubbock, TX.
